Medical Director & Founder of WeightMedica
Fausto Petruzziello
Dr. Petruzziello was born and raised in Rome, Italy. In 1995
he moved to the United States, where he completed the Internal Medicine program at the University of Massachusetts. Three years later, Dr. Petruzziello co-founded Family Practice and Internal Medicine of Spring Glen. In 2007, he established a new medical practice: CareMedica, along with two associated medical enterprises: LaserMedica and WeightMedica.

Dr. Petruzziello has authored more than 30 research articles in the fields of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Antibiotic Therapy, and Geriatric Medicine, published in Italian and other international journals. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the Connecticut State Medical Society, and the New Haven County Medical Society.

Nutrition Consultant
Debra Boynton, DTR, CHC
Debra has 25 years of clinical nutrition experience and is a Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) certified by the American Dietetic Association (ADA) since 1995. Her experience was gained at Paradigm Healthcare, Harborside Arden House, Milford Hospital, and Middlesex Hospital. During her career, Debra has conducted nutritional screenings and assessments, developed and implemented nutritional care plans for patients, and provided individualized and group nutritional education for patients. She joined Weightmedica in October 2008.
Debra also has experience as an independent nutritional consultant for health club clients. Debra has maintained certification with AFAA as a group exercise instructor and personal trainer for 25 years. Attainment of health and fitness through nutrition and exercise has been her lifelong pursuit.

Physician Assistant-Certified
Andrew J. Rodican
Andrew graduated from Yale School of Medicine in 1994 and was awarded the 1994 Yale University School of Medicine Physician Associate Program Medical Writing Award. He has over 20 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant. His background spans across the care continuum, with hands-on experience in Bariatric Medicine, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, and Occupational Medicine.
Andrew is one of the first four Physician Assistants in the U.S. to specialize in Bariatric Medicine and pass the National Certification Examination for the American Board of Bariatric Medicine. He joined WeightMedica in August of 2014.

Physician Assistant-Certified
Rebecca Grillo
Rebecca graduated from the University of Delaware in 1997 with a degree in biology and went on to earn her degree in Allied Health at Daemen College in 2003. Upon graduation, she earned a certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Rebecca worked at Connecticut Gastroenterology Associates from 2003 to 2011, where she focused on diagnosing and treating acute gastrointestinal disorders. Rebecca joined WeightMedica in September 2011.

Physician Assistant-Certified
Tio Livingston
Originally from Jamaica, he came to the U.S. and enlisted into the Army as an EMT/Combat medic where he completed a 14-month tour of duty to Iraq. This life-altering event heightened his interest in medicine, so upon completion of his deployment, he attended and successfully complete the Army's Licensed Practical Nursing program. While on his 3-year long overseas assignment, Mr. Livingston enhanced his medical knowledge and skill in areas such as OB/GYN, general surgery, primary care, and occupational health medicine. Once he completed his service to the military, Tio successfully completed Quinnipiac University's Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then pursued a Masters degree in Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies at Salus University, Elkins Park, PA. He has over 10 years of medical experience caring for military members and their families.

Physician Assistant-Certified
Gabriel Umbehr
A Wallingford native, Gabriel graduated from the Quinnipiac University with a B.S. in Health Science Studies and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2017. Continuing his studies at Quinnipiac, two years later, he received his Master's Degree and completed his PA program.
Gabriel has a longstanding passion for primary care and general medicine, with a particular interest in nutritional counseling and types 2 diabetes management. He is a member of the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
